This year's Autemo World Team Battle is set to be the biggest one yet! It will undoubtedly become the most covered and prestigious event since the tournament's inception 4 years ago.
With more than 80 teams from 26 different countries battling it out for the status of world champions it is sure to be an unrivalled showcase of contemporary and innovative automotive design. This year, however, the teams are not only battling it out for the recognition that comes with being world champions. Oh no, we have a twist for you! The final round of the WTB will involve a head-to-head competition between the final two teams to create a chop that will earn the title of the "World's Greatest Photochop" - a new idea that has evolved from huge public demand in social media for automotive photography. Ultimately, the winners of the WTB will get the most exposure and recognition ever seen before by chopping artists.
This year's format will be slightly different from years gone by. The tournament will be run over 6 months of which there will be 4 rounds of one and half months each. With greater eliminations per round this will prove to be a shorter but more intense, cut-throat competition than it has ever been. Late entries will immediately get a 20% points deduction penalty. And any entries later than 2hrs WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Another change will be the voting. This year, the voting will be determined by a 50/50 split between a selected panel of judges and the public. Voters will only need to place the chops they believe should progress to the next round. This will ensure that the winner of the WTB and the "World's Greatest Photochop" is agreed upon by the public and experts in the field alike.
And now for the best part! It's only fitting that the biggest WTB yet, garners the biggest prize yet!
