The problem started yesterday, my laptop (a HP G61 410SA) crashed and when i looked at information about the crash, which has been continuing today, Bluescreen seemed to be involved and part of it was Minidump. Been trying to solve the issue but no luck at the moment. I don't even know whats causing it.

Can anybody help with a suitable fix to the problem.

Just to note, i got the laptop in June last year.

do you using windows already installed or empty (No-OS) at buying it first? if first option you've got, well yeah you should reformat your PC and then reinstall the Windows 7, looks like the manufacture always have the bad installation windows, my friend have the same problem too, but after I recommend that, the problem usually clear and the Windows is healthy until know..

but firstly check the Windows itself first, maybe there a not-properly settings that makes your windows crash.. or check the program that are running, maybe they too much eat the resources makes your computer crash.. If everything normal but the symptoms appear again, the first suggestion (reinstall) maybe help, but first of all you should back up your data first.

Anthony, It's hard to pinpoint the cause of these blue screen errors. It could be a variety of things from a faulty piece of ram, or a driver or program you installed recently. Blue screen errors are generally hardware related, that's why I'm guessing ram or driver.... Have you installed anything new recently or changed anything?

Try http://www.memecode.com/docs/minidump.php, look through the mini dump file and see if that tells you anything. It should put you in the right direction at isolating the root of the problem.

Since i posted the thread my laptop has been fine. I checked the warrenty and its still valid.
