Try use some Anti Aliasing when selecting and brushing.

You just need to select with the pen tool and use a feather radius at about 0.5

Yeah its hard to comment without substantial progress because its the same thing in our eyes almost. Try to do more work between updates. Brush isn't too bad imo

0.3 feather should be enough, dont use to high as what you brush "glows" through the selections..
But yeah you need some better selections, they're really hard, and jagged.

But the brushing looks ok
