Familiar yes, because several people have used this base. I don't think anyone should be judged for that, a handful of people chopped the green mazda not too long after Jack did his.
Anyway beyond that...it's nice to have at least a little comment about what you are trying when you post your work...not always necessary, but it helps occasionally. If this was your first try at a full brush, I would have to say that you should choose a better base. Use a base that includes the complete car, so you are not guessing at what is and isn't supposed to be there and you will have shadows/highlights to reference. I mention this because your car is missing window edges, and a front marker light.
As for your attempt, it seems as though you have many of the basics down, the shades you used for the red flow very nicely. Your reflections are very strong where the windows are supposed to be, there should at very least be the slight outlines of an interior. Lastly, the lighting highlights (random dots on the body lines) seem a little too random, as if they come from multiple indoor lights rather than a single outside lightsource.
I do think you did well finding a bg that matches the cars perspective...the ground shadow is a little too crisp, but I could see the car actually sitting on that street.
Very good attempt, I would say next time try a base that is more complete to start with, and try and look at other cars and how they reflect the light in a setting similar to the one you are working with. Keep at it
