Which 3d software to try?

Hi. I am interested in trying 3d modelling, for free.

I plan on working with cars -> which software do you recommend? And where do you guys find good tutorials for complete beginners?

Hi mate, Glad to see more people joining in 3d.

If you are thinking of a good free software, i would suggest blender.
Its got many resources and stand up against other software in the 3d world.

Only down side is the UI it takes a little getting used to but in the end with practice you'll get into it rather quick. Also it features animation, game engine and an amazing render kit

As for tutorials there are tons out there for Blender, from basics to get you started to more advanced stuff.

Give it a go https://www.blender.org/download/

And if you feel like going into sculpting you can try Sculptris "Zbrush lite"

Ok, gonna give blender a shot. Process will be SLOW though :D
Ok im going to do this too :D so Nordic eventually we can do a " 3D noob battle"
Redz Design
AKA : EPYON
I have progressed into basic understanding, still so much to learn. From this tutorialseries I am following I dont really see how you can model the interior for example :D
I "bought" 3ds max recently and I thought it would be harder. Plenty of tutorials on YouTube.

Blender is great but not very user friendly, i can't say for some others but the only two i'd suggest would be 3DS max and Maya, 3Ds has a strong modelling focus, Maya has a strong animation focus, tbh, i think 3DS is the better option and i plan to move to 3DS but they are pricey.

Wow 3DS max is almost 2k per year. Not gonna pay that. I can give it a shot since I can get the student license for free but that is only till certain date so not sure if worth the time to learn it.
You can apply for a student license for both maya and 3dsmax, I use maya as i prefer its workflow, but If you want a FREE Blender is the way to go its very powerfull, and its gonna get a new UI fix soon. I will move to Blender soon as well, as I cannot get payed for my work in maya currently =)

Good luck :-d
