Quick custom license plates
That's how I add custom plates with the words and numbers that I want. I think it's so quick and easy to do without brush and the finish result it's quite good. Let's se how!
The first step is search any website that sells some custom license because to copy and paste in our chop.
In my case, I use www.customeuropeanplates.com (if it's considered spam I will delete the url) because you can write numbers, letters, change colours... and it have a lot of plates from Europe.

The base will be that Renault Clio V6

As it's a french car, I will get a french plate and I will write the text. When you finished your license plate content, you will click on add to chart

If you don't click on add to chart, you will have to do a screenshot of yout screen and cut all to obtain the plate, too much time to do that I think.
Once time that you click on add to chart, you will have to click with the right button of your mouse and select open image in another window.

And you will get that

That's the outline of the plate and you only need to copy and paste in your chop, but you will cut the edges of the plate

Clipped the edges, you will adjust the plate size and a bit the perspective as a wheel or another kind of piece to adjust of the original plate just like this

As you can see, you will have to modify the colour, brightness and contrast. The last mod is so important because it will give "volume" and it will not look flat numbers. Also you must change the colour tone of the background plate and the tone of numbers with the selective color tool to get a good result like the next image

But still needs more realism. The next step will be add 0,3% of Gaussian blur and 1,5 % of uniform noise (the % it will depends of the quality of the original image and others)

The upper image would can be the final result, but I prefer to delete the "sawtooths" of the plate shape with the blur tool (38% of sharpness) to improve it.

And thats all !! I don't know if there are another similar tutorial, but I don't find anything and other tutorials from the forum has broken images by the imageshack failure.
Hope you enjoy it.
