Hey Guys,

For my newest project, I decided to take an idea that was partly inspired by the Gas Monkey Garage Chevrolet Camaro, but also fit with how I want to go about chopping, mixing styles and concepts to create something different. So, I present the Aston Martin DB11 Off-Raid X project.

Base Image


For the base image to work with the Mini Countryman All4 Racing, I had to flip it horizontally and transferred just the body onto the donor, which I feel works rather well and has a cool look to it. My only issue is the front bonnet, not too sure if it just needs shortening or is a little high on what is the driver’s side of the image.

First WIP image is mainly getting the body on the donor and getting an idea for the look of the overall design. I know the front isn’t quite right (as mentioned above) but hopefully with your help, I can correct that without losing much more of the DB11 front.

For the second WIP, the side fender exhaust and rear wing came from a BMW M4 DTM car and begin to set the car off and once I can find some more racy bits for it, will turn the car into a proper Dakar style racer.

As for what’s to come, hopefully I can find a nice roof scoop and race interior for the car and once I have the front of the car sorted, the mud flaps with be adjusted to work with the design. If anybody has any donors that will help the project in anyway, even if you think it will work/look good, I’ll try it, but my main issue is anything that requires brushing will be my first proper attempt, so may not look right.

Taking my time with this project and with the Xmas period coming up, may not get a lot of time over December to work on the project due to working (in a supermarket) so looking for a 2017 completion at the earliest.

Really nice idea, only issue I see is the front perspective is off but it is on your list to fix.

Donor wise, interior you are best looking for a DB9 GT3 as this would fit the easiest. I have a busy few days coming up but I will have a look through my donors when I can.

The angle of the car is faulty.

Could you explain more please as I'm aware that the front is not in perspective, but seems to fit otherwise. Got a few ideas to play with for the front but this is the first project that I could complete for a number of years so will be alot of relearning along the way.

Basically the angle is not the same, cause your basecar is angled slightly differently and also it isnt shot at the same height neither. Sure you can fix it but something to keep in mind.

Will try them out when I get chance, catching up on the F1 race so may be tomorrow when I try them. Also any more donors (from anyone) would be appriciated and tried out.

Have you got anything in mind that you want a donor for? I have far too many donor photos to upload but if you after something specific I will take another look through them.
