I want to talk about a subject that,for me, is a problem here.

The voting system.

We should change something to prevent all chops are rated 9/10 or 10/10 every time ...

There are more and more new members on the forum, I have the impression that the virtual tuning takes its new start, but the trouble is that novices members rate the pro or elite tuner not objectively because for them the level is too high and the chops so beautiful etc.. But there is always somethings to improve in virtual tuning ! Even for an Elite tuner..

And also all the comments are the same "Oh wow amazing chop, love the rims and BG"
But we are here to progress, we need critical opinions.

Realized two chops since my return on autemo, no comments to improve myself..
The Pro or Elite chops are covered commented with "useless" without any reproach, ok it's cool to say you like it, but try to say why and try to find some mistakes to help him !

Ya nice idea. But don't think that something will change with rating. There are not much people that rate too

some problem about the comments is, that some people (me too) with bad english.
That makes it hard to explain some little problems or mistakes in chops.

And activity here is very bad

You can use a translator like me.

Activity here is better than before, we need to make Autemo a bit more popular by changing some things, I don't know..

Change the design, or making videos, trying to re-make the virtual tuning popular

Have to agree with Zeevo, Critics are a bit low here but i like to take part in the chat to help out as i rarely comment on chops, i like to give out help to some novice artist since i know how it feels.. I started autemo last June and ranked up quite fast to pro tuner, but i always had help and tips from others and this is what i try to do also.

Some artist has to be approached slowly since hard critics affects their performance in chopping.

I once helped you out Zeevo remember on the evo X, so thats how i normally do

Can't agree more ZeevO about the pointing system...any chop not posted in the beginners forum is simply given a 9 or 10 with just a simple explanation of "cool chop bro"...no real discussion of the chop just a point...and on the other hand all beginners chops are ignored (where imo the points play the most important role)...

I would definitely suggest what JVT.hu does on its site with the points system...there the points are also give out of 10 but only those choppers can vote who have earned it by either being pro choppers or by having a good eye for chops and being able to give constructive and useful feedback on a chop! I know that this could be difficult here on Autemo as the activity is dwindling slightly and by limiting who can vote on chops might only make it worse but there is no real point in whats going on now with the points!

And B-Designzz a translator used correctly can be a treat...also if you cant explain with words, just copy/paste the chop into PS and draw red circles around the parts you think need changing or improving and then try write everything else you wish to say...if you want to be understood by the others you will be understood...just how it works!

That's the problem about the chat, the WIP section is here to post progress of your chop if you need help, I see a lot of guys leak some pictures of chops on the chat, but they can post it in WIP section and get the same feedback on the forum..

But I agree with the points, nothin bad.

But activity is not good imo, thats the main problem for me. Cause spent lot time in chop to show it you and the others and get only 2 comments. and Pros and Elite get lot of more. Just same people that given comments for some other.

Voting maybe dunno. What you actually thereof? You get no Pro status or something else cause of the vote.

Pros like hugo, roob etc.. have a real job (I think, roobi is a pro designer now, am I right ?) but they post some chops here, Elite must help a bit more novice artist, I know its hard cause they don't have time but.. Well we need to make something to help Autemo to be big as old days

you are fighting a fight that already ended, we are trying to bring things back like they used to be for years with no luck,
its not the design of the forum, or the platform or wathever that needs changed, its people that need changed, today all you see is people that take shortcuts and copy other artists and donor abuse while calling themselves "creative" and "artists" just so they can get likes or comments,
there is very little interest on the community lattely due to it being "not creative" they prefer to follow a line they know people will mindlessly shout AMAZING CHOP rather then trial and fail while improving and developing their own style and skill.
also, the biggest issue in my opinion is facebook made forums life very hard, people rather post something on facebook and get 200 likes than posting here and get 5 empty comments, thats just how life is, things move on,

i love autemo and i will never quit it as long as its online, but it pains me to see what the chopping community turned itself into, i wish people would be more determined, more driven, more adventurous like they used to be back then, today they rely on a very improved version of photoshop and huge library of donors to create a "wow" image with no creativity, back then people bend themselves, twisted themselves with shitty software and no donors to be able to be creative and present something new everyday, something unique, thats what made chopping community special, thats what kept it going

(this is not an indirect to anyone or me trying to be offensive) , sometimes i include myself in the description above, sometimes i feel i belong to the generation thats fucking up the chopping community, but seeing what it is becoming into i loose interest in it and that reflects on my own work
i used to be veeeeeeery active on this forum and digimods etc, but i lost interest and started being less active due to people begging for comments like it is my job to comment on theyr chop and then i post a chop and get like 2 or 3 comments. people so quickly beg for comments and help when themselves dont comment or help anyone, i remember last year a lot of people begging me to start wip threads to help them see my p+rocess, i made a wip thread and had like 2 comments, thats what makes me not want to post more

PS - THERES A LOT OF TALENT OUT THERE, thats the reason i didnt quit yet, cause i still have hope

Agree with you Hugo, but there are a bunch of things the site could do better. Unfortunately progress on any changes is slower than we'd like to see. So for the time being we have to make do with what we have.

A mentality change would go a LONG way at least. Companies etc are already dropping things like Facebook after quickly realizing that it provides no reliable statistic or commitment from people. They're going back to customer value, so should we.

When as a user you're looking to get something out of the community, consider what you put in. Create value and you will get returns. It's not all going to be short term.

What we can do right now is make a selection of criteria so we get a "template" for people to post that truly want to give feedback. We can then post it somewhere people can copy it and fill it in for the chops they rate.

So lets kick that off right now. When you finish a chop, what are the things you want feedback on, specifically?
