I thought we had a thread on this but I didn't see it so; What software do you use to chop? I'm guessing that most here use a version of photoshop, but which version? I use Photoimpact (PI) and Corel Painter X because I can't afford Photoshop and gimp just didn't work for me.

The problem is now Corel has purchased PI in order to stop development and kill the competition to it's products, so I'll eventually have to find another program. I might have to go with an older version of PS but I don't know how far back you can go and still have a better program than the alternative cheaper software?

If anyone knows of a cheaper (than photoshop) program I'd appreciate the heads-up...or if anyone knows of a cheaper place to get PS that would be great too.

I used to have CS3 but something got messed up with the registry and broke it...so I'm stuck with CS2...now that I reformatted the registry issue was fixed, but I lost the disc for cs3
