Well, well, well... Congratulations on making it this far! There has been some phenomenal work produced over the previous three rounds, and we want that trend to continue for the final.

Here are the competitors in the FINAL ROUND!

YOUR TASK

Minivan Challenge

Minivans - the least interesting of all automobiles. Even econoboxes have the 1-up on these sad little guys. What this also means is that they're probably the least chopped and least modified of any vehicle - so boy do we have a challenge for you!

This round we want you to produce a vehicle that the Stig would be happy to drive his kids to school in, and have a regular soccer-mom shaking at the wheel. That's right, produce the most ridiculously fast Minivan you can - a Minivan to outrun all Minivans, this one included!

Feel free to choose any base image you like, we only have TWO critical theme requirements:
  • The chop must have identifiable elements from the base image (don't go producing a brand new Minivan - it must be a modification of an existing one)
  • The Minivan must be able to seat 7 people comfortably

And here's a last minute reminder of the PRIZES on offer which will hopefully spark up your imagination...

We currently have a prize pool of $275 AUD. This results in the following prize break down:

First Place = $150 AUD
Second Place = $80 AUD
Third Place = $45 AUD

DEADLINE

This is a knockout based tournament, the TOP 4 voted competitors from this division advance to the Final. You have until:

Sunday 10th February, 2013, 9:59pm UTC+11 (10:59am UTC)
(click above text for count-down timer to deadline)

Judging will begin shortly after this, and be undertaken by the judges in their separate sub-forum. Allow approximately 2 weeks between the closing of the competition and the release of the results.

Please refer to the official rules of the competition, and if you have any other queries please ask in this thread or PM an admin.

Here are the final requirements of submission:

The Autemo logo must feature on your final image(s) somewhere. You can download the Autemo logo here: Logo Pack

Post your entries, 800px wide in this thread. AND supply a link to the FULL high-res version, too.

Your entry MUST also include at least 5 work in progress (WIP) images of your entry at various stages of its completion. These images must not be misleading (i.e. make it look as though you've done more work than you have).

We also request that with your submission you post any major references used. If, for example, you have used a donor extensively for perspective or copy and paste purposes please post this donor along with your chop. Members who do not do this are considered as misleading the public.

Members violating any of these rules will receive a vote penalty.

Best of luck - be sure to impress us!

:mrteeth: heheheh nice task. iet how do we seat 7 people on a racing minivan? that would take all the space for a big engine on the back :(

All it really needs is just some subtle features to ensure that it is still the car you started with (eg. headlights or grille).

Certainly don't "stay as close to the base" - this theme requires original and outrageous design! :-d

I'll let you answer this question... You will find a way if you need to! ;)

One thing sure. It's a good minivan when it has 7 seats and a sliding door on the side. The other is up to us. I think I have an idea muhahaha xD

and in the same time, you wrote "don't go producing a brand new Minivan - it must be a modification of an existing one"
filiation with an actual product of style is "enough" for the jury ???
what's the good compromise ??? o.O
This should be fun :)
And Klaus, be careful with your wording :P
I already have experience with minivans :P

Let's see.

I don't want you to make a completely different vehicle out of the base. For example, an SUV out of a minivan or something like that (that would defeat the purpose of the theme). It still must have some of the characteristics of a minivan.

I also don't want to see the base image completely changed to a different car. If it's a Chrysler, it still must have some features that make it iconically a Chrysler.

But at the same time as all of this, I don't want to discourage creativity! If you have a great idea, but it goes against the restriction that: "The chop must have identifiable elements from the base image (don't go producing a brand new Minivan - it must be a modification of an existing one)"

Then I encourage you to go ahead with the plan.

I thought I was stating the obvious with that restriction, than imposing a really strict rule. XD

Ok and thank you for your answers

i'm verry sorry but i have a other question !!! :mrteeth: :mrteeth:
When you speak about "minivan"...
it's well about utility "little van"... the ugly, industrial and squared véhicules ???
utility vehicle equipped to carry of people... <_<

it's not about a "monovolume" like the S-Max posted by Zyko o.O

it's the jumpy for Citroen and not the C8 or the C4 picasso,
it's the NV200 and not the Evalia for Nissan,
it's the Multivan for VW and not the Sharan or the Touran,
etc... ?

Have you some examples of brands or models to be sure ... :mrteeth: :mrteeth:
