EDIT: Came back for another look and the task description caught my eye. I had to modify my votes accordingly.

4p to xan: Hands down winner for creativity while also being of very high standard technically. (Old comment: First off I'd like to say I would have wanted to give 197 points to xan's concept work but I'm not getting the intense rivalry action feeling from it. It looks more like a showcase, like a scene just before it's really on. Maybe if the wheels were spinning it would have fooled me enough. The cars look amazing and even without reading the texts in the image it totally said modern Miura to me. Took a bit longer to figure out the other one's a modern Dino but now that I look at it again I keep thinking "Well of course". Definitely the most interesting entry on this round, I just find it not fulfilling the rivalry criteria well enough to pass the other entries. The Miura especially looks something I would love to model in 3d and import into a game engine.)

3p to hugosilva: A perfect action scene with great execution. Almost looks like it could be a screen shot from Hot Pursuit or something. Great composition, angle and lighting. Only thing I noticed missing are the headlights' reflections on the ground.

2p to rookiejeno: Another good action shot depicting rivalry. The blue tint is a nice effect and I like how the red Frari pops out of the picture. The paint on the Lambo looks technically awesome but maybe it kind of gets lost into the blue background. On the other hand it is quite big in the image and easy to spot because of that so maybe it doesn't need a coloured paint. I'm not a fan of the white wheels, both style-wise but also because they seem to be a little low-quality compared to the rest of the image.

1p to hege: Amazing image quality on this one, it looks as if I could touch the Lambo! Lambo is definitely the best part in this one. The paint on the Ferrari looks a bit flat because it has no reflections on it while the other car has. Some darker hues on both the cars would have also been in order to make it look more like a night scene.Also, they're driving at night and blasting their headlights head-on towards the viewer so you'd expect a lot stronger effects from the headlights. I'm sure it would have given it a lot stronger mood for the image. The police car kind of gets lost in the motion blur and because of it the bg has no depth. Also on the right edge of the image there's a strange directions difference in the motion blur effect which also eats away the wow factor. And again, a tighter cropping and maybe a more severe angle for the camera would have definitely made this a more striking image. 4:3 image ratio rarely packs a punch.

Zykotec: It definitely has action and the rivalry going to some extent. To me, Sonny kind of distracts from the car rivalry there for a bit. Lots of small errors, flat wheels and bad quality donors (should have left the second version out as the blue paint on the Countach brings out the bad image quality). The mountains actually look more in focus (and in better image quality) than the cars on the foreground. Comparing it aesthetically to the other entries this one falls far behind. There's no dynamic in the composition since both of the cars are in a simple quarter view and the leveled-out view further diminishes the effect of a high-speed pursuit.

In contrast to Olli's opinion, I actually like the route that -xanforce- has gone down with his entry. In my opinion it better represents the "long and epic rivalry" of Ferrari and Lamborghini than any of the other entries, as he's actually looked back at two of the iconic cars from each manufacturer that rooted the rivalry, and pitted them against one another for another time - with a redesign twist. As usual, the design of each on is impeccable (you really should be doing this for a living if you aren't already!) and the finishing is top notch. One thing I'd love to see you do is use your designing and artistic skills to produce a photo-realistic piece, rather than a render/sketch final entry. Great stuff again though!

Loving the effects, although as an image it feels a little too chaotic and messy. Although that may have been the aim, I do like some order and a defined subject in a piece like this, otherwise it loses my attention quite quickly.

Very difficult to choose between yours and hege's, but you edge him out based on the amazing realism in this chop. However, the bra and the dude shooting is pretty tacky and both look like last minute additions.

4 points = hugosilva - My! What a stunning piece of art! Staying true to the rival's theme but in a totally different way, and very original for this round! Cop vs Racer I love every bit, especially that gorgeous sunset, wet atmosphere. The transformation of the ferrari is insane,, and the lambo's paint is equally sexy. My only criticism would be that the lambo doesn't quite feel to fit on the backdrop. You see too much of it's roof I think

3 points = -xanforce- - well, the amount of effort and creativity here is mind blowing! While it may not quite show the same sense of 'rivalry' it's certainly an incredible piece. I love how you've brought back to life old classics and given them a new twist, and the accompanying wip work just adds to the awesomeness. All that stopped me dropping this into first place was that it didn't quite have the same sense of rivalry as the other chops. Never the less, great work

2 points = Rookiejeno - a very nice piece with some great skill and attention to detail. The overall composition is great too, however the ferrari's positioning really lets it down for me - it doesn't quite feel like it sits on the backdrop right, and for me I'd like to see the front wheels turning into the slide rather than still pointing straight forward - I feel it would make the image a little more dynamic. The rear lights on the lambo and flame could use some work too - they feel a bit flat and fake. Everything else is cool though - a lovely piece of work

1 point = hege - compared to the bases there seems to have been more overall effort put in here, and for me this captures the spirit of the competition slightly more I really like the subtle mods on the lambo, especially the addition of the new reflections, which just add to the overall atmosphere in the new backdrop. I feel the ferrari's paint could use a little work, however overall a very nice looking piece.


@Zyko - for me, there isn't quite enough of a transformation from the bases - If I compare the quantity of work on yours and hege's I'm afraid his just edges it. There's also the slight issue that the countach and F40 aren't really rivals... they're about 20 years apart from each other Also some slightly noobish mistakes, like flat front wheels on both cars, and lighting that really doesn't match on the extra additions. Despite that some cool ideas - it will be interesting to see which of you or hege progresses.

Top image is far better but would have liked to see the Lambo in yellow though, as both being the same colour doesn't make them seem like rivalries. The wheels are the biggest let down of your chops.

hege - This didn't quite make it, as there isn't much rivalry between the Lambo and Ferrari IMO.

I agree with ATC, this chop shows more rivalry which was the theme of the chop which is why I gave this chop an edge over Xan and the finished work just looks amazing!!
(only thing that sticks out is the lambo badge, I think it needs a bit more glare from the sun, it's too dark atm)

Hege, Big fan of your work and this chop, but the Ferrari looks very pasted in and lacks the reflection/ highlights/ details needed on the car, the lambo by itself is amazing and just pops out from my screen!
