This is my 1996 Saab 9000 CDE 2.3 turbo that I bought back in May 2011 for £155 MOT'd and taxed from ebay Originally an Ecopower model with about 170hp.




A year after I bought it (so May 2012, if you can't keep up) my other half was thrashing it along a country road and the engine went pop... So the hunt began to find a new engine, but it really wasn't easy. Waited for months until another engine came available from a car being broken up by a guy local to us, which then began the car's transformation from 'old man' car to sleeper...

A couple of weekends later the engine and interior was swapped (for black), the car was painted and it was back on the road...



Recently changed the turbo from a T25 to a TD04, installed a fatter intercooler with 3" pipework and now running a stage 2 Aero map, which gave us 256hp and 295lbft torque when we stuck it on the dyno last weekend.

Epic.
Lows next?

Getting a set of Bilstein shocks and springs for it soon which will tighten it up a bit in the corners
Will also be getting it remapped for 300hp once I get hold of a 3" downpipe

Just thought I'd make a little update on my Saab...

It's now on Aero springs and Bilstein shocks. They've only lowered it about 20-25mm, but have made the handling a lot less 'boaty'
And thought I'd throw in a couple more pics

Looks pretty good actually, and you don't hear me say that about saab's. but you've swayed my opinion of them. good you're lowing it, it'd change the look of the car .
