Honda Civic 1997 - PROJECT

This is my first project car. Had it about 1 week now and I LOVE IT:D. Pretty good condition considering it's been stood for about 2 years, or maybe even more, we don't know. As you'd think there are some issues. Like when we picked it up, the front tires were flat, it needed some oil because the engine was bone dry, the battery was flat as anything, handbrake was stuck on (after some pushing, it was moving!) and needed a little bit of encouragement to actually drive, but it's a smart car.

I don't know if we're going to be modifying it, but I hope that I can actually do something crazy on it! Maybe some alloys and lower it? I know it deffinalty does need a new paint job. There's scratches, primer showing and bubbles in the paint, so that's something that is needing to be done.

Here's some spec on the car.
• Honda Civic LS
• 1.6i AUTO
• Got about 63875 on the clock
• Little bit of rust on the bottom of the rear arch

In the pictures it might look black, but it's deffinalty not. It's a deep purple color. (Don't as me what it is exactly...) Here are some pictures, they were taken after I attempted to wash it.

It stood still for over 2 years and you are only thinking about mods torres? Ban!

Good luck restoring it for a better price than just buying a better one..(< sarcasm). xD
why not?
in my opinion that could be a good tuning project

but is only nothing but one opinion Brian ( i supose bro)

It does need two new front tires, so they're a definite! I am thinking about getting some alloys, or just running it with the steels (they'd have to be new because the ones on it now are rusted to well- hell?) I think it needs a new exhaust, or just cleaning up. Bound to have some rust on it somewhere, plus it is blowing so i'll be having a look at it tomorrow once it's on the ramp. I don't know about new seats, as the ones in it at the moment are good, just need the head rests putting back in properly.

The things from the doors? Do you mean the rust and moss on the sills? They're going to be covered again, and re-done. I don't think angel eyes would suit the car, but hey- I use photoshop right.. *dropping a hint there*. I don't know about tinting the windows.

I agree with you, but him on certain aspects.
And thanks. I prefer the older ones, got more shape and a history behind them.
Hopefully we'll be able to get a good price for it once the work is done, or might even modify it, I don't know.

With this, we're focusing more on getting the issues sorted to it's road worthy first before doing any modifications :).

your car is from 97 it has a good electronic, you can insert new electronic issues to open doors and many other things
( is expensive but is just one opinion )

If i was you dont put spoiler,
You mean the door handles then?
Im not sure i'd want to have too much electrics going on, there's more to go wrong then really. But yeah, it's something to think about.

And I am not sure about adding a spoiler, really does depend if I am able to modify it.

yes the doors handles kate

Do you know how annoying shaved door handles would be on a four door car? You have to think a bit more about modifications, rather than just looking good. It would be a lot of work/money for something so little. Also you would have to repaint most of the doors if not all, and I'm assuming the paint has faded so it will be difficult to colour-match or otherwise it will be patchy.
I think that rules out shaving the door handles. XD
I reckon some alloy rims since you need new tires anyway. Or another solution is to take the hubcaps off and paint the wheels black like I did. :P
Yes but is one opiniom eheh!

if someday i have a car i will making modifications very slow
but i love cars with out doors handles when they are 4 doors
when is a coupe i don´t care but when is 4 doors sedan i prefer with out handles
