Toyota Avensis
Some people may have seen this car before, but in a WIP thread where I were going through plans for what to do with the car .
Not really my car, but I class it as mine. I do all the work on it, like fixing it. And also, I am the one always cleaning it. I spend the most time with it, and well- gotten to know the car more than they have. I have driven it a couple of times- on closed private roads and such, and it's a great car to drive.
They say these cars are boring, but i'd say actually push one to the limit, and then you'll realize that they aren't so boring as you'd first think. When the Turbo kicks in, you go (I know that's what a Turbo helps to do, as well as help with engine economy and emissions), but for a standard Turbo, is goes pretty damn well.
There have been problems with it, like turbo not kicking in right, and fuel seeping out from about the injectors, and also going all over the cover. The fuel management system wasn't working properly, and un-burt fuel was getting into the exhaust, and creating a hell of a lot of blue colored smoke when it started from cold. But they were easy fixes and got the car back up to full health in no time .
I would own one of these when I am at the right age for cheaper insurance, and I would sure as hell lower it, add new wheels- maybe a new engine, but I am not so sure with it being a diesel and all. I don't see how it would be any different than changing a petrol engine, right?
So, here's some pictures of the beast...
