The Comp Voting System...
Regarding Comp Voting System
The current system is a bit of a mess, however you look at it, so after much thought, and several different ideas I have come up with a proposal.
Step 1
Select an official judging panel of a few respected choppers. They would each vote in much the same way as normal, creating an official ranking. (Those on the panel who had entered themselves would vote last, placing their chop in the average position given by the others). [Members of the panel would have to apply, and would then be selected]
Step 2
Votes tallied and the order finalised. Then we go back to the traditional voting, however, only allow the top 10 or 15 to be re-ordered, allowing them to fight out for the points. Those below will remain as the judges deemed (as often it is these that are unfairly placed - realistically they have no fair chance of points). This reduces the risk of totally outrageous votes, and helps reduce the laziness factor. At the same time it eliminates the annoying, difficult and time consuming method in place for round 15 voting.
We need a solution, could this be it? Thoughts please.
