Hey!

I've been thinking this for a few days and I thought I might just let you know it too.
Atm there is the intermediate, pro etc. levels. There are also the "stars" showing how good the chopper is in each profile. But now when there reads "Advanced chopper" or something there's really no point for the stars.

So the idea is the following. Every time you reach a new "chopper level" your stars go back to zero. Then people (maybe with 100 or more messages?) could vote for your promotion. When about 200 peoples have voted for your promotion (you could also vote for demotion) all the stars would be filled up and the admin would get a notice that "people" want this guy promoted. So one star would fill up with 40 votes or so.

The same would go the other way around. If people vote for your demotion the stars get back to zero and the admin would get a notice that a possible demotion might be necessary. The promotion and demotion buttons would be right next to the stars in each profile.

A bit hard thing to explain with my english skills but I hope you read it say what you think. Of course this would take a little effort from admins but since there is the suggestion area I decided to tell you about this idea.

Maybe a good idea.
But 200 would definitely be too many atm.
There are not even 200 users with more than 100 posts.

great to see people think about stuff like that ..
but for me it all seems so complicated <_<
plus we would get situations of people asking for votes and friends helping eich other get votes
a good old fashion promotion by crew like now is still the best solution / option
also if a member has got enough posts they can choose "the admin promote this guy box" or "the i vote for hof box"..when replying
so option wise it's not simple here also they listen to mebers opinions when enough people say a promotion is deserved i see them promote so thats also great ..


one thing is for sure there still are some members on levels way beyond their capability
i think the topic title beginners should be changed to novice maybe..

novice>inter>pro>advanced>elite btw is a long list an imo makes it harder to sepatate some people
i still believe in the end the old levels are better , :-dbecause with this many sections it's hard to deside the difference between pro and advanced , they are so close afterall

but i'm also fine with this way ,i think for me personally having fun and seeing other people's works just bring pleasure , trying to help here and there and do yor best on your own works

Great idea Maza, however it'd be too difficult to keep track of people cheating (getting friends to vote) and 200 members (even 50) is too many.
It's fine as it works now, trouble rarely occur.

I must admit the "the admin promote this guy box" is great and so is everything else in here. And I thought that the "100 messages and you can vote" would be a solution to stop cheaters but you are right, it's propably not. I guess the idea would be more actual in a forum with not this user-listening admins. Nicklas is right, if stuff works there's no need for a change.

Oh, just thought that there might should be "admin, could you please consider demotion" box too. Really to be honest it maybe wouldn't be that bad thing. Sure you can PM the same message to admins and that's fine with me too.
