I was thinking over some ideas for competitions, and this idea came to me. I don't think it has been done yet (at least here on Autemo or on PSU) and I think it could be a new style of competition that could be chosen as a little bit of a change up to the regular competitions.
Basically, my idea would involve a competition where there is no set base, but just a theme from which competitors can interpret which ever way they like - it would be a much more artistic competition than what we currently have. Take for example, a theme of "Rivals". This would include competitors creating a chop which features a set of (two or more) cars that are considered to be rivals. There are so many different possibilities here... from WRX vs. Evo, Holden vs. Ford, Ferrari vs. Lambo, and then all of the German rivals like Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz (C63 vs RS4 vs M3 for example). A theme like this could bring about endless possibilities of chops and really test choppers artistic abilities and true capabilities in photoshop.
Why not use this style of competition for the opening round for the World Team Battle. I think it would be incredible to see what some teams could come up with.
Other themes like this that I've thought of:
- Top Gear: create a chop in the true spirit of Top Gear
- Airbourne: create a chop where one (or more) cars in the chop have all four wheels off the ground
- Need for Speed: create a chop that screams everything about the NFS series
- Damage: create a chop that features the brutal side of racing
- Japan: create a chop that captures the essence of the most enthusiastic of all car enthusiasts
- America: (similar to the Japan theme)
- The Chase (Cloud inspired): create a chop that shows the adrenaline rush of a car chase
- Drifting: create a chop for those that prefer it sideways
++++++ more
Tell me what you guys think of this idea. I personally would like to see it used every now and then as a change to the monotonous classic style of competitions.
