Downgrading MSN Messenger

When i downloading Windows Movie Maker earlier (which i have installed but cannot find) and i have had to upgrade to the new MSN Messenger 8.1 but i prefer the older 8.0 (or 7.5) and i have tried a few ideas and nothing has worked.

Does anybody have anything to help sort it out. I'd be very grateful.
Un-install the new version, and > download this one. It worked for me.
But how?

I have tried pretty much every option i can do and nothing is happening. I removed windows live sign in assistant and deleted a msnmsgr icon and nothing else happened. Its how to defiantly remove the new one as nothing seems to be working.
Download
It'll remove it.
i'm downloading it now.

I'll post either within a hour if its worked or in the morning as i'm watching CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (and yes i enjoy watching).
The perfect uninstaller isn't working correctly. It says i have to register it and to do that i have to pay for which i do not want to do.

If i have to i will stick with the newer version as i aint going through all the hassle of trying things and nothing happening.
every time ive installed a new version of messenger, it uninstalls the previous one fine for me. can't understand whats happening with yours =/

What i mean is i have the very latest Messenger, but i don't really like the look or layout of it and want to un-install the latest and install a previous version like 8.0 (belive the new one is 8.1) or 7.5.

Found this while searching how to remove messenger.
"Windows Live Messenger is a pesky MSN product, which comes pre-installed on Windows Vista installations therefore making it difficult to uninstall. "

I am looking into getting a new laptop for christmas, so it could be best to leave it and try if i get the new laptop.
