Hi to all,

I was just thinking the other day... Photoshop is clearly large program and it can be used for many things.
I personally always used it just for chopping and photos editing.

Now I'm curious, what can you do with photoshop and make money out of it?

I'm not opening a new bussines with PS, nothing like that, just out of curiosity.

yu can actually chop for money here on autmeo, the client projects are available after yuo have reached pro tuners level, then you could do retouches on photos, like if you take a picture on a model for a magasine then she/he will prbably need some retouch on the skin etc

You can do graphical work, such as banners and logos for websites and companies. I've done a few myself, and it can make you a handsome amount of cash. However, professionals will charge the customer a hell lot more than you'll be paid - which is somewhat fair, even though I know for a fact that a lot of choppers/photoshoppers are better at using PS than the profs.

Yeah Ps - Illustrator you can do all sort of jobs, logos, ad's, posters.

I'm personally tring to get into photography/ design myself. Which might include touch ups on people on magazine and all sorts of wacky stuff

It's not only about what you can but what you know. For example, the sense of style in various context (this is a big one!) and iteration of ideas on what works 100% on a given design project.

Some things are pretty logical, like magazine photos touch ups or logos making, I don't know how I didn't come up with that.

But here is the main problem, how to promote yourself in that crowd of PS users? How do you promote yourselves?
Is there are companies in your countries that are hiring PS users or is this more self promote thing?

And I think it's more self promote, like some people Email companies asking for work because they feel there good, Some make a good portfolio/ gallery and show it off when applying for jobs.

For me personally I display my work on several websites, partake in competition, do client work, and trying to meet people in the industry, and learn from them.

It's also good to show a wide variety of work

In terms of making money off of it, I have made very little money from photoshop so maybe I am not the best one to comment on this but as said above really. PS is a design program so any form of design work can be done on PS really. Since getting a tablet, if I am in the mood for sketching designs and I am at home I will open PS and sketch instead of having lots of paper around. I think concept work is done in PS (or similar programs) things like character designs for games. The one area I like the idea of (but I personally suck at it lol) is speed painting and background design for movies (someone tell me what this is called because I have forgotten )

Making website designs is one thing I know that could work good, but even then, with scripting skills youll get further with that too...but actually photoshop alone doesnt get you far i think.
