What is wrong with Autemo??

I don't know why but autemo is losing it's popularity and the members aren't choping anything, WHY???
When i joined autemo 2 years ago there was 7/9 new chop every day,now we have barely 4/5 per week :( .
On the competition's only the ,,novice '' artists are compiting, from the ,,elite'' and ,,pro'' there is almost no entry and some of them haven't been active for 2,3 and more years.
WHAT CAN WE DO TO BRING AUTEMO TO HIS FORMER GLORY IF THAT IS POSSIBLE????

If you joined 2 years ago you haven't even seen it at its most popular phase. The level was good, lots of chops and such but then it slowly started declining, people spreading elsewhere and starting to do other stuff and exploring other areas of life more.

It used to be like when one "set" of extremely talented people started being less active the next one stepped in already and kept up the buzz and exctiment which was created with cool work and community. Then too many people left at the same time, arguements all over and this is the current state.

Ofcourse many people have their own views on what happened but that is mine. It went too serious with no actual increase in reward to justify spending so much time drawing stuff. Plus ofcourse getting older, getting work and other more important stuff in life.
It's a bit of a culture shift. This is the time of participation awards and Xbox trophies. The time of instant gratification. Very few people still sit around building toy models for a month or something along that street. But at least those people have something to touch and show every now and then.

It's worse in the digital world. Look at how fast people consume digital content. People watch a new season of House of Cards in a day, after Netflix releases what it has worked on for a year. Spending that long working on a chop for five minutes of appreciation just isn't worth it anymore.

It's our (Autemo's) fault as well. Autemo hasn't exactly "gone with the times." We're working on changing that now. Ways of measuring progress and being able to compare that to other people are being worked on. More recognition for things like competition entries by trying to involve partners. Stuff that will put your name out there and actually give you a leg up if you want to turn this from a hobby into a career.

But, it's difficult. To be honest Autemo just has very little means. If it had an anonymous sugar daddy and a super involved mod team we'd be making much quicker progress.

One thing we could start doing right now is just celebrate smaller things. You've created a new bumper and skirt, awesome. You didn't rebrush the whole thing and switched to a custom background to make a masterpiece, that's fine.

What did happen with "Autemo world team battle"?It was a championship that troubled the choppers of the Autemo to do amazing work.

I won't post anymore chops here. Always zero comments on my threads, while four or five comments on some shittier ones. The population of the forum aims only to the <<Whoaaa Slammed Cool Special Effect>> and ignore chops which aren't likely to their view, unless they come from an elite artist. :-q

disagree, and who are you to say shittier than yours thats relative and derives from personal opinion, also disagree about "unless they come from elite members" to be honest it is common senc to think better showroom chops would get more comments/apreciations, that does not happen, i had elite chops posted with only 4 comments, and seen this happening with other elite members, so your point on this is invalid,

as for the problem of autemo, i dont think it is a autemo problem, i think it is a people problem, people these days dont care as much for forums, dont bother commenting etc, as these days with facebook and social media people tend to look and scroll down as quickly as they can, its just how times are going these days, the velocity people consume media online these days is out of this world making it less important for them

it sadens me that in a era with more access to information, people seem less informed, care less about that information

I'm not the most skilled user here, but I can assure you they were worse, taking apart every personal taste or pride (I don't tend to be pride or subjective and partial). I've used shittiest to include the possibility of mine chops being shit, which is also possible.

I didn't see elite chops with few comments (anyway I rarely got at least one), so maybe they're some very isolated events or I may have missed them, which is possible.

Just opened the elite showroom and on the first 2 pages, there are 11 threads with 4 comments or less.

I agree with hugo on this, people just move on to facebook, forums like this are getting less popular because of that.
Also, I'm guessing a large percent of people who was active here before just doesn't have the time anymore to chop or even to spend much time in here, when you have a job, other hobbies and some of them have their own family now, you just don't get to spend hours upon hours sketching in photoshop.

It's sad, yes. But I'm still happy that we still have our little forum where we can chat with people we already know and share our quite unique hobby.

Renovating old house, working on actual cars, watching kids, all chops that can be chopped have been chopped in the past, Imgur, Warthunder, Youtube vids, work. I have tons of excuses. XD
Also the new generation of choppers are a lot better than me, and I see I have passed on some of the creativity too, and 3d modeling is a lot more awesome than photoshopping too. (for those who understand how that even works)
'Growin up' steals a lot of time from everyone.
Not that I was the most active chopper to begin with anyway.
Some men just want to watch the world doing burnouts... :P

first sorry for my bad english
I think it is quite easy
The forum is like a wife
In the beginning it is: damn, wow, that's cool
then it's fun
there is a lot of new
Then comes the moment like in real life
the decision between affair and marriage

what I'm saying
the heydays are over
most have no more time for chopping because it is the real no longer live permits

and we are all waiting for the new Forum :D XD
