Just to clarify: There is no theme, just go extreme with modifying it. But like I said, try to make sure it doesnt start looking like another car. That defeats the point of chopping a Mustang.

Surely that defeats the point of chopping anything. If I can bear looking at PS after finishing my novice comp entry I will give this a go.

I believe what he means is that it doesn't end up looking like something from a different make.
Defeating the purpose of a Ford competition.

This is exactly it. I know how much the community likes fitting entire sections of a GT-R, GT86/BRZ or things like Ferrari diffusers to other cars. The idea is fine, but usually no custom work is being done to fit those parts to the new car, in both design and functionality. Even when the whole thing is brushed. So we still see it's a GT-R kit, or a Ferrari diffuser at first sight.

You cant sell that idea to a car manufacturer. "Hey the best way to make your car awesome is to fit rival parts." Just like you would not have a portrait painted, only to get sold one the painter still had that looked sort of like you. Or you wouldn't have a suit tailored only for the tailor to refer you to another shop, where they have your size in stock.

These tools (like Photoshop) offer so much freedom, there's no need to take shortcuts. Should be a bit of personal pride in making parts look like they were made/designed for that car. That's job done. That's something a tuner or even Ford itself could take to a parts manufacturer and have made. The next time the tuner comes to you to design parts instead.
