Yeah I use Linux as well. Also Windows vista and up now has a good tool I find useful for hdd partitioning, especially in dual boot environments: (control panel -> administrative tools -> computer management -> disk management) Shrink partitions

i use linux in a pc at work, to backups, disk cleanups, and such things when clients drop computers in for fixing
