How do you mean it doesn't fit right at certain parts? Can you please post a picture in your 3d thread?

As for losing previous unwrap work, make sure you always collapse the UVW Unwrap modifier onto your model after doing UV work. All UV modifications gets saved that way and when you apply the UVW Unwrap again it remembers what you've done earlier.

Another thing, although unlikely, but there's a chance you have been working with different UV channels within UVW Unwrap. There's a setting in there that allows you to save multiple UV sets on the same model. Make sure that's always set to the same on you worked on before. It shouldn't change on its own but, you know, it's 3ds Max so it's got a lot of bugs. :D

Thanks for your words. Youre ilustrated me some doubts. In 3d cars that i have making i dont make the Maps at moment. Thanks a lot for your last post. Helps so much !!

the tires was a bit lowres fix that ;)

They're around the same scale as most of the car but turns out the type of the dirt detail in the textures makes it look lowres. Maybe I put a bit too much wear trying to make them look old and dirty. There's no clever way to put more resolution to the tires anymore because the texture map is very much full already. :D

Thanks for the comments guys.

I made a looping gif of the front cover detail.

http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/vqu95jy97k55sbh/AR8engine2.gif

It's a quite hefty image file (24MB) although it's only 360x360 pixels so I won't link it as an image on this page.

I'll try setting the whole thing into the Unity3d webplayer at some point so it can be viewed in real-time.
Dug up some old concepts I made at work a couple of years ago. These didn't go into any game so they were only left at this stage. I thought I'd do a drift car like these as my next personal project.

I'll add the link here too if someone wants to take a look and doesn't see it in the shout-box.

It's a html webpage which as a Unity webplayer in it. You will need the Unity3d extension for your browser to view it.

http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/21585227/Public.html (88MB)

Click and drag the right mouse button to rotate the camera, middle button to move the camera and scroll to zoom in and out. Shift+mouse left button rotates the lighting.

EDIT: Uploaded with compressed textures. Looks good enough! Size down from 149 to 88MB now.

Made a wheel just now.

Design based on the wheels Norder used in his >> Civic chop << back in 2007 but with a small alteration.

I'm going to make a low-poly version of that, bake the high-poly geometry in it and add some more detail in afterwards too (tire tread, tire text and the wheel lugs at least). Maybe I'll use that on a complete car project later.

EDIT: Now with textures at >> Sketchfab <<

That looks really smooth. Is there any way we can look at your 3d cars aswell on Sketchfab? I'd love to watch your v12 goblin there :)

Thanks! The latest car, AR8 is on Sketchfab but the textures aren't calibrated for that rendering method so it doesn't look right. Better to check that out in the Unity web player. Link is in this thread.

Hmm, I guess I could make the Goblin into Sketchfab too.

I started another personal car project. Didn't feel like designing the whole car myself this time so I thought I'd take a cool sketch drawing as a starting point. Currently still figuring out the base shapes of the car before I go into modeling the details.

Based on this sketch by Matteo Pandolfi.
