£1700 for a wide lens, zoom lens, grip and camera, I didn't know I had/ I spent this much money till I calculated now

so a good memory card and a cheapy lens hood which will do for now

Nice purchase Zero, with the 18-55/ Hood + Camera + memory card should serve you well, Just save up for a cheap zoom lens and you are all set... for a while...

Until you see the quality baller stuff, then all you'll want to to is upgrade and buy unnecessary stuff.. like me

I'd rather he saved up for longer and bought proper glass. The glass is making the pics, not the camera (if it's not broken that is), so always put more money in your glass than your body.
