Ohwell, long time no shooting - got some time off from work during Gatebil this weekend, and spent some time doing photography instead of filming for once. Might include some close-to-nude-chicks later ;) Oh, and it was the first time I tried panning at 1/60 + I was sitting on my knees on top of an office desk leaning out of a window, so the results aren't that good :-q

The pics are of shitty quality because I can't be arsed to upload them again, so I'll just hotlink from Facebook.

Babe pics as promised to some - didn't have an external flash, so the lighting isn't the best :( Plus I only had a 28-135mm glass, should've brought a more wide angle!!

Ok, so I've been dwelling on this decision for a long time now, and I've come to the decision to sell all my equipment bar the 70-200mm. As many others, I've come to the point where I've gotten "worn out" and lost motivation due to lack of response at the boards and websites where I've shared my pictures over the past few years, although there has been a few very nice people out there which I've been contacted by, including the fire department who wanted to buy some pictures + a Norwegian automotive blog who wanted to share with their readers.

The overall lack of response from everywhere is killing the lust to travel to events to cover them, as this takes planning beforehand to get media credentials, it costs money to go (petrol + entry fees etc.) and the fact that you're out there spending weekends in rain and bitter cold to share your work with other people on the huge interwebz - and when you feel that it's not appreciated by people you will eventually lose interest. I'm not saying that you guys suck or anything, there are some great people on here that I've grown to be friends with after I registered, but the ratio of sharing:feedback isn't favoring me the slightest, although that might very well be a reflection of my photography skill for all I know.

Anyway, I don't know if I'll be buying a new camera any time soon although I've been looking into getting a 1D MKIII to start all over from the half-broken 40D and hopefully get better results with that. Time will tell :) But for now, thank you very much to the ones that have given me some feedback! :)
Hmm I see where your getting at with the post/comment ratio. Some times it's demotivating after the effort put in the work. At the moment I'm just trying to get work in the photography industry, maybe you can try that too?

As for gear, bloody hell I'm assuming you have a 70-200 F2.8 or F4 and now you want a 1D your insane xD
You should post the gear you have, I wanna see them :D

Good luck with the move mate. :-d

I always try and comment on your photographs mate and you have some really nice shots!!! I would personally like to see more but this is Autemo, more of a photoshop site then photography, get around on different forums. I dunno, just need to branch out to a wider audience, try taking up something different then drifting and hot girls :P

Much love man hope you do get a 1D mk||.
I like you.

Well, there's not much of an industry over here, nobody gets paid to shoot anywhere bar the places you'd get into because you're friends with someone who works there (which is how I got my job at Gatebil 3 years ago) and the people who work there are well established names. I've gotten to know quite a few great photographers over the years, bought some equipment from guys at FHM etc, but I'm just way out of their league, so no possibility at all except if I put in a massive wad of cash in some 1337 glass and proper lighting equipment and start practicing which isn't possible as I'm a student living on a shitty loan which barely pays my rent (even when I split it with my housemate) + food including the studies which is a bitch itself. The 70-200 is a f/2.8L IS USM I bought when I was 15 after I'd saved up money for many many many years, and I'm not giving it up unless I really have to.

I haven't got much gear here, only the things I've got for sale + the 70-200, but I've got a 400D with a BG-E3 grip and a kit lens, a Nikon D70s with a SB-800 external flash and a kit lens (which I bought alongside my 350D as I couldn't decide which camera I wanted to go for), but I've kind of donated those to my mom and dad so I can't really sell them. But anyways, here's a pic if you wanted to see what I've got here after I moved for myself:

I've noticed that, and I really appreciate it! And yes, it's a chopping forum - but it's identical everywhere I post, whether it being regular automotive forums, OC-forums, drifting forums - everywhere. It's just the established, well known photographers who get any attention and appreciation, although I'm also trying to be polite to everyone else and give them feedback even if they've barely started photography - I'm always happy to be able to give a pointer or some nice words just to keep their spirits up as I know how shit it is when you're not getting any yourselves. About the branching out, I'd refer to my reply to Joseph - there is no way inside the "circle" if you don't know anyone who lends you equipment and serves you opportunities on a golden plate or you spend thousands of pounds more than I already have poured into this hobby to get great equipment which you can learn how to master - of course you have to start with the basic cams, nobody is stupid enough to buy pro camera houses before they know how to master the basic stuff (apart from a guy I know...) but rather invest in a couple of nice lenses.

I'd love to take up something else like maybe concert photography as I've had a go at it at couple of times at Gatebil, but as said it's very hard to get credentials to such things without knowing the right people. So the only place I could really do it is at Gatebil where I already work and have full access...

And btw you tittay, it's an MK3, not a 2 ;) <3
Allright. I had decided to stop posting until I found motivation and got a new cam. Well, it's now been 5 months and I haven't touched my camera since the last post, neither have I managed to sell my cam as it seems that nobody wants second hand gear anymore, even though I've dumped the price to $690 while I paid over $2400 for it new. I'm saving up money for a 1D house, but I can't be bothered to part with that much cash when I can't sell my cam nor got any motivation for doing photography. But I do need a new cam this summer anyway, seeing as I'm most likely to go over to Awesomefest in July with the "Norwegian delegation" (yeah, it's really a cover for stalking Jackdarton.)

Anyway, thought it would be boring with just text in here, so I'll just slap in two pics from my FB that I've snapped before I put my cam to rest.

First one is a pic I did to document my mom's ongoing cabin-build on top of a mountain. We've literally got the top lot, and we've got over 180° view from it, and the toporaphy in the area gives us some pretty amazing views when the lighting is right. We've built almost everything ourselves, except from getting the framework up. It's going to be roughly 1900ft² and will sport a media room equipped with a full surround system, blu ray, X-Box 360, projector directly on a 4x2m wall + a wall to wall couch. It's gotten double drywall in every direction aswell as over 1ft of insulation for sound deadening and I've built most of it myself :) To put things to scale, the windows are 5m tall :)
40536_426855108366_682753366_5143025_2795772_n.jpg

The second pic is from the start of our 1month long grad party in high school where we team up and build buses, competing to be the best. This one sported a sound and lighting system worth over $20,000, but there were many buses from other schools that cost way more to build. Then we ride the buses for a month during night while partying inside, stopping to meet up with other buses in the middle of nowhere etc. while getting insanely drunk. Good times! This isn't the best photo out there either, but it's the best from that day, and I really haven't got anything else to share.
24061_389484838366_682753366_4189157_5271794_n.jpg

That'll be it until I get a new cam or find some motivation, I've got a couple offers for photoshoots but I haven't got the time because of uni and we've got 3ft of snow here, so not really the best conditions to do it anyway. Feel free to comment if you want, though I'm not expecting many tbh :P
That house is just awsome mate and photo is plain coolness. :D
