well the weather is great and chopping is a bit low atm ..
i decided to continue my rat / vintage rod i started last summer
some will recognise the car i think , most is scratch build , the base i used was far from what you see here
i now made exhausts inspired by a pic from the internet
incl. heat wrap on the first part of every pipe
upright carburetor pipes
painted the white wall tyres myself

everthing is made a bit unperfect and rough on purpose its not ment to be perfect and flawless , just like real rat rods
i painted the headlights yellow and just tryed to get that certain look

at first i had small tyres and now found bigger ones for the front so it looks more in proportion

made some shots in the dirt later on i will take some in the custom build vintage garage i made

this was the base car , the frame and fenders where all one peice cast




the rear also one peice casted needed loads of grinding and cutting

now i went on with it and this is the result atm

Bloody hell, Rich your insane with such massive mods and you have so many more tools and equipment to use I'm jealous

And the only reason I mod and buy model car's, Is because I love to take photo's of them.
So I promise i'll take loads and put them in my photography thread But until I have time here's only a quick picture <_<

seriously the mini looks great i'd love to see some close ups ,
idea's >>>
1.maybe grind off the license plate holder so you only habe a bumper (more clean)
2. paint the inside of the grille black (the horizontal lamels) and leave the surrounding chrome

NEW PROJECT

just started it 3 hours ago , i wanted to make my beetle into a hotrod but the body was not suited then i had a spontanious idea and started on my 2cv
it wasnt one of the cheapest modelcars (pretty expansive )
but stock is boring and this i think will become insane looks wise

the look so far kinda reminds me of a guy we had in the chopscene who chopped 2cv's on dm (cant remember his name)

when i smoothed the undercarridge this evening so it can really be slammed



idea for a 2cv rod


then .... cut the thing


very rough cut


then smoothed it on the electric grind bench until its flush with the body (smooth)
the big plus is inner fender wells in black already like it supposed to be
