^What he said... The orange paint is freaking delicious, I'd love to see it in that shade from a different angle!

Thanks guys! I'll keep the orange paint in mind.

Took a quick render of the whole body with the orange paint.

I'll continue with the materials on the rest of the car probably this weekend I have the time.
Materials on a wheel and tire. I'm thinking of actually modeling the tire tread on it. It would make it a lot heavier to render but it would also look a lot better. The bump map just doesn't seem to give enough definition.

Not a lot of progress this weekend. I was meaning to do lots but then mental ray decided to not render the exhausts' material like it used to. No idea what happened to it. So I made test with the chrome material applying it to different objects around the car and it seems only the exhausts render wrong. It just wouldn't render shadow inside the exhaust pipe like it used to.

See how the body and the exhausts look like they are different materials altough they are the same!

So I ended up making a new chrome material using a more simple shader. Now it gives me sharp and strong reflections with proper shadow inside and as a bonus it renders a lot faster than the previous material too! I did try another proper chrome shader but that thing multiplied the render times and didn't really give any better results.

I also made mesh patterns for the holes in the body kit.

And found a glare effect for the camera.

It's been mentioned earlier in this thread but here goes again with greater detail.

Modeling is done in 3ds Max and rendered using mental ray, textures in Photoshop and nDo2.
I modelled new detail into the headlights. Should be more interesting to look at once I get the texturing done as well.

And textured.
