my best result ever .. zero orange peel , its like glass ... and the reflections are breathtaking , sorry to say myself but i was soo happy with the result !!

tomorrow i will take pics in the daylight these are in the dark and in daylight with maybe the sky as reflection outside i think then it will show much better .. also then in daylight you will see the bodylines better

first on this pic you kind of can see that its real smooth



used the pc screen as lightsource .. a bit like they do in car factorys to inspect the paint for imperfections











so yes i'm a happy camper right now !! cant waight to put on all the chrome

just took some pictures outside and well ...pffftt i took it out of the cubbord and went ooh yes .. went outside and all the stuff just hit the paint , the sky and .....

when its on the wheels i think the sides also will look even better then you will have the ground surface hitting the body and reflect , that also is rounded so i recon that will give nice efefcts also


i just love how the body lines get accentuated by the light hitting the body



and luckely teh pannellines and the depth of them is spot on .. great effect with those breaking the reflection










now i want to be patient .. already can toutch the paint and its hard but i'm afraid if i would hold it and apply pressure i will ruin it .. so i def. will let it harder for a while ....

and finished the scratched aircleaner , the stuff in between is cloth electrical tape

gently dryfitted the new grille , sides of the grille are blacked out .. it will sit deeper but i dont want to ruin it at this point so just loosely on there ..

the refs of the grille are cool

well today i made a paper mold of the top of the aircleaner and scanned that in the pc and started some design in fotoshop ..

the idea was a oldschool pinstripe .. but sadly it was to small to get a real nice crisp pinstripe on there ..

so after a few try's i put this tiki on with a v8 logo on his head ...

glued it on and made it so the paper went into the edge where the pin sits in the middle still showing the steel pin

for now i put one thin coat of varnish on to seal it .. later i will mask it and spray clear coat on and try to give it real depth

design wise not what i wanted but the best option for now


also made the filtermaterial inbetween black ..







i also have to make a distributer and wire it

well masked it off and sprayed clear coat on it .. that brought it to life .. btw yes this is just a4 paper and not decal paper





and just for fun because sometimes we forget the scale with all those close ups lol >

bad news i wanted to glue in the windows .. and well i was so carefull but some glue got on the side of the body , dont understand how .. i was able to polish it .. smooth but the shine never became the same ..

the good news is i therefore gave it a nother coat of clear ... and when i saw that a nother one ...

and man it became soo smooth and soo deep ... just like a mirror now ..

so i learned that when i build up layers of this clear coats every time it gets more flat and deeper

the body was just on the counter and the littke signs on the wall .... whow



then did the hood .. to keep it the same and you really saw the difefrence when the hood didnt have a nother coats or 2





just like glas / a mirror its really that smooth



so i learned a cool thing for next builds ..

because i did thicker and muyltiple coats i will let it sit in teh closet until the weekend .. iw as actually planning of having it asembled this evening lol

and well tbh on the right side at the bottom there is like a wide runner / thickness difefrence in the clear .. due to all the mayhem when it got damaged ... but its so reflective you can hardly see it due to the reflections ...
