I partially agree with J, but I also think that we can apply some easy rule to solve this kind of problem.

I've to admit that I perfectly understand that a noob can't do what I do, and I can't do what Hugo do... so we all have to start from our skills and try to improve. Personally I hate chop that someone call "That's a total c/p chop" it's ridicolous.

The rules I've mentioned are easy to apply... when you post a work you've to post the base and all donors you've used (wheels donor, interior donor, BG donor, color reference donor) in this way we can easily see what was really done. If you don't respect the rule the chop will be deleted.

When is something stealing?? I think it is such a thin line that it is hard to make good and clear rules about it.
Is it stealing when someone uses a scion XB (square car) as a paint donor for an Honda S2000 (round car) and the end result still looks like a S2000?

I've done it myself a few times and I do it because I'm not the best brusher in town but I do want to get a great looking picture in the end..

So I think the best solution is to let EVERYONE post their donor pictures in a link.
And let's say you need at least 4 or 5 different donors (paint, BG, Interior, Wheels and kit for example).

Personnally I think this is a solution that works!

Well to be honest its a really good point which has been brought up here as i myself have seen various chops on the net which are clearly c/p to the tone of almost 90%. though it is generally considered good to have a reference image but copy pasting stuff from it without any change whatsoever and claiming it to be your own is serious bullshit.

To speak for myself, i personally rely on donors as well but only for the purpose of adding realism to the image and get good refs on the image itself. However, I always focus upon designing my own bodykits, coming up with my own designs because at the end of the day that i think it is the uniqueness of design that matters the most.

i think artist like hugo silva, ATC, Jackdarton and the likes who are actually involved in doing designing cars professionally might just agree to this.

I disagree about one point, and maybe the most important...
perhaps i've misundertood the comment about C/P chops, it seems that you (and who else) don't accept anyother style beyond the bush one...there are or were great C/Pers getting incredible results

Of course it isn't, he was taken to "Advanced choppers" years ago.

So, if you meant C/P chops overall, i totally disagree and dislike your "hate" for this chopping style.
However if you meant those forgers and robbers, damn, of course i agree with you and they deserve to be punished.

Maybe I'm mad for "defending" Srcky right now...but i don't see where he tricked "us"...where is the problem?
i see the same base...i see he used just one donor for the body kit...he modified the BG a little bit...i DON'T see where the problem is.

honestly i liked a lot his chop, the idea of the kit on it and i remember i have voted for that chop with a 9 or a 10, cuz i liked it.
After watching the donor i discovered how he got that nice chop and think that he didn't a huge effort to do it, but man, it is his problem not ours...i trust him, cuz he didn't give reasons not to. If he did an easy chop like this one, go ahead, we will see your real skills level in the future, but don't deserve to be blamed for stealing or cheating when he didn't (or atleast as far as I'm concerned).

About the offensive comments or attacks or whatever, i don't care...it's mods/admins job, not mine.

Lot of people don't like to show their donors because they want to keep the exclusivity on that image and don't want to see the same part they have used in everysingle chop.
That's the reaseon i think some people don't share their donors, i don't like to post them to everyone...i've done a searching work before adding parts to my chop, so is part of my "art project"...the images are on the net, go and find them yourselves. However i respect when people ask for them and i don't mind to show my donors sometimes, not always.

This isn't about Srcky's chop, please refrain from discussing that further in this thread.
