closed up the engine compartment with thicker round plates

also plastic welded the speedholes .....



the side panels , i had to get the hairpins loose from the chassis , these will sit firther back and i will make new ones or alter these









added tiny mesh on the brake air scoops , sadly some glue sits in the tiny holes .. but in the end i think after paint and some weathering i can make it look like piled up filth after racing ?

some bondo and started work on the roof

well closed the sides in the roof with round pieces of styrene ...

i left thme like this not going to make it level with the rooof , i loved the looks styling wise



better vieuw , i think the extra round shape there makes it more interesting





now to make side windows , a front window ...

just put a good coat of primer on , nice and thick so i can sand out the last imperfections ...

it already came out very nice , one mistake i made was to leave a ridge in the rear of the roof , without primer that looked cool now primered and in one coor it looks weird ...
need to smoothen that and put some bondo on that , also need a small amount of bondo on the round side things on the roof ...




and color wise .. hmm still thinking red .. maybe even the so-calk colorsceme with red and white and the round design ....
only if i'm convinced i can mask that off in a nice way though

painted the body red last week when it fell down and was ruined , had to strip the paint and do it all over again , primer / sanding ...

but i'm glad it fell down and i had to start over lol

painted it black this time and man this looks so much better on the car

it will dry up semi matt because it was just painted on the pics , but i used this paint before and when i'm done with details and decals i will spray it with high gloss clear coat and it will shine as much as on these pictures





closed the nose like you see on a lot of cars , no grille just streamline





nice deep panellines



used new hairpins on the front axle these will sit on the body instead of the short ones wich where on the hood ..
when painted chrome they will give a great contrast on the black body



also have a parachute for the trunk , just dont know what color to paint tthat , maybe matt black on the gloss paint ?

well i looked at some tyre weathering from the salt flats ....

body very weathered but the tyres a bit less



after looking at more my conclusion was i just want a milder weathering , also on the body i will only do a mild spray where it came of the wheels , dont want a all weathered car with the gloss paint

now this is my base weathering with the white pigment ..

a note i can make like the salt specs on the tyre thread but i want to do that when they are finally fixed to the car because then i dont have to hold the tyres anymore

sprayed the chassis black .. when this is dry i can go in with chrome and do the axle , brakes , struts chrome and then add some salt to the undercarridge




the white pigment poweder on the tyres .. is doesnt rub off it is like hardened or ...? so thats good news !!

i made the sidewalls of the tyres a bit less white and looked how they looked on the chassis





then painted some chrome on the axle , brakes , hairpin and some small parts





then went trough my decal collection , didnt have the patience to waight and buy decal paper ..
found some green flames with white .. i never been a flame guy , like i'm not crazy on flames ..
but i could see the green ones on the black would spice it up and give the body some detail..
cut them up to match the body added some numbers ...
even found a bonneville decal and put it on the back (to small for the picture)

and sprayed it all gloss clear .... and well >>>





hard to get the flames on picture they turn white but its green with a bit of white maybe in the evening i canmake better pics of the flames

hold a wheel in front , looks great and imidiatly makes it look like a car

well eventhough i never was fond of flames i'm glad i did it on this one , makes it more alive , plain black would have been to boring on this model



desided to start the bottom weathering with a slight haze of white powder like the salt is dry and its more like dry haze ..
later when everything is put together i can create salt specs ..
i dotn want to overdo it since the body is soo shiney .. i just want it clean / shiney bit looking like its been on the salt
