Apparently there's a cyclone brewing out at sea and might hit on the 28th??

I heard about that on the news last night. I was like wtf! mother nature must really be hating QLD for some reason right about now.! A cyclone for Queensland would be like rubbing salt in our already battered wounds :(
Yup, I hope they release a lot of water from our dam if it looks like that's tracking to go here! At least I'll be back here from my trip when/if it hits.

Here's a couple of pictures about 200 meters down the hill... The water's almost gone from there now, but is sure around in other parts of the city still.

Here's a couple of photos as promised most from around here, and one of a very nice restaurant district next to the river (you've probably seen that area on tv anyway)-

Horrible conditions in Australia. Wish you and all the others the best. Hope that no cyclone is going to happen.

Im Germany we also have floods everywhere. In my area it isn't that heavy, but for example in bigger citites like Passau or Koblenz it's very hard right now, but Monday will be the ultimum, as the metereologists say.

The street in the next pictures is on my way home from work, normally :D
Was much worser 3 hours ago or so, but wasnt able to post pics before.
Maybe you can see the stream...

That's intense sfdesignz, it seems a lot of parts of the earth are going through some tough times at the moment. I hope your house and work etc stay clear from it.

If there is anything positive to say about events like these natural disasters, I can say it's amazing to see all the people and community come together and really help each other out in these times of need. Here in Brisbane it appears there are no shortage of willing volunteers, they come from all over the place, and there's people so giving and ready to help out. That says a lot for humankind and I think it's reassuring seing how good us humans can be to one another.
btw my idea was not ment harsh off-course its pretty bizarre and :-q that this happened

in holland some parts also are floodded btw , due to heavy rain and melting snow water that comes down in the river (so the river is overflowing)

stuff like this is awfull indeed

holland has a long history when it comes too floading and watermanagement

we have had projects of years and years to keep the water out of some parts , with storm fload barriers at sea

etc etc

the pics above and what i saw on the news from australia is :(

watch the video...that's exactly the road, where I shot those pictures.
To see the video scroll down the site and click on the headline "Auto in Kulmbach von Wasser weggespült"

There you can see the stream a lot better, than on the pics.

The video is about a car crash. The driver ignored the warning signs
and the barrier and wanted to drive through the water but the stream
was to intense, so the car was flushed away over 100metres.
The driver could get out and he wasnt hurt by that action.
