Nice system of voting but there is too small difference in points between 1st and 5th place.Only 4 points.I think winner should catch much more points than rest.

Something like that... The votes are always a secret (only admins can see them, just for security purpose). But after you vote you can see how are the partial results going and who already voted.

About the points. We use that previous points just to vote. When the voting finishes we use another table. Here I leave you everything:

Points that USERS give when voting:
1º · receives 5 points
2º · receives 4 points
3º · receives 3 points
4º · receives 2 points
5º · receives 1 point

Voting goes for 1 week. After that we close the voting page and automatically add X points to the name of each chopper in the championship list:

1º · receives 20 points
2º · receives 18 points
3º · receives 16 points
4º · receives 14 points
5º · receives 12 points
6º · receives 10 points
7º · receives 8 points
8º · receives 6 points
9º · receives 4 points
10º · receives 2 points
The rest of the choppers that entered the comp receive 1 point


We ve been using this system for years, and works great (at least in our site )

Yeah,we do the same thing with two tables but with F1 point system.

problem with that is that people have to go in and type numbers or make many clicks which leaves just as much potential for stuff going more. It also isolates those who aren't in the top 5.

What could make more sense is several divisions, based on rank.
'Begginner' - novice and low intermediate
'Intermediate' - rest of inter and pro
'Advanced' - elite and advanced

That way everyone gets a chance at a prize, novice members aren't competing against elite, and have a chance of winning something, and there are fewer entries to sort through within each category.

Not sure how the logistics for deciding which category people should enter in would pan out though.

vote for top 3 for say beginners, inter and advanced, 1st from each get 25, 2nd is 18 and 3rd is 15.
all these add upto the overall leaderboard where everyone is battling against each other.

only thing is a nca could enter everytime and win and if hugo has a break he wont win so something could be done about that

ATC Design: Where do you have to type or do too many clics in my voting system man? haha You would only have 5 input lists to select the choppers you want. Nothing else... Easy, simple, quick. You can do it even easier using a drag n drop system to move and order the 5 chops you like into a new box/table/div.

Check the images I left on the previous page. You can also check the "Liga" results in Photochoperos and you will see that almost everybody receives at least 1 point on every round. We ve been using this system for years and we never had any problem. I personally think that 5 is the best number, 10 is too much.

About your voting system, I agree with rc82. But you said something interesting about chopping levels. Best thing you can do about that, in my opinion, is to show a different championship for each level using the existing overall championship points. This way you dont need to vote different levels and you can have a winner for each level each round and obviously a champion of every level once everything finishes.

But the best thing now would be selecting a new voting system, start testing, and start doing changes/fixing it...
