I've been informed that after submitting my competition entry, its not appearing in the entries. Yet it says my entry has been submitted.
It would also appear that the same has happened to someone else. JUI mentioned that it says 22 artists have entered, but only 20 chops show... so yeh... can anything be done to remedy this?

sorry but for atc to be 12th and goncas to be 22nd, i think something really needs to be done
this wont give them any motivation for future comps if stuff like this happens every comp
nca choppers are getting better results with there chop with flaws over advanced choppers with spotless chops

lolz... but my entry was only there for the last 15 hours of voting... so 12th is rather awesome tbh. i must agree about goncas though, however it didn't look like anything special in the thumbnail, so for lazy people.. it ends up low. There are certain other results which are highly questionable too, which makes me suspicious as to whether people are merely asking their friends to vote theirs to the top, and leave the others anywhere... which would be a shame

I mentioned this yesterday when the votes came out. The order with the votes are really screwed.

I think something needs to be done with the system - it's way too ridiculous trying to place 30-ish chops in the correct order. Perhaps if we only had to vote the top 5 or 10 and the chops were in a grid format (like HUI suggested) so we can see all chops at once, then it wouldn't be such a pain to vote. I still think there'd be quite a nice spread of chops even if only the top 5 chops were to be chosen, because the best chops would be voted in the top 5 consistently, while there would be others that wouldn't - and who really cares if they came 20th or 25th anyway, between 1st and 3rd is most important

i actually havent voted in about 4 comp because its a pain opening up 30+ tabs
and i dont want to vote for the top 10 and leave the better chops in the last 20/25 near the end which has happened

We know something's really bad with the voting system. When it was initially built I guess I didn't expect the downsides or impact it would have on users when there were upwards of 15+ entries. The more entries, the way harder it gets to use the thing. Under 10 or so entries and it's great.

Feel free to throw ideas around here and I'll be doing the same in the staff area. I particularly like Klaus's idea of only having to vote for the top 5. The concern I have there is if you aren't getting in the top 5, you may feel it worthless to enter the comp..? Ideally everyone should get a placing in the comps, not just the best 5. So in this case it may turn out better for the voters, but worse for the entrants. There are always advantages and disadvantages/drawbacks to every system proposed. I guess will just have to throw a heap out there and determine which one has the more adv over disadv.... Do any of you guys know of other websites that have a similar voting principal in place? Perhaps we can look at other websites for ideas and insights of what to do here...

I think TOP 10 would be better.And when AC 2012 comes out,change the point system like F1 had. 25,18,15,12,10,8,6,4,2,1.

I use this system in our forum in PL where i make comp.And it works fine.
Also agree for changing vote system just like WTB.And if You think there is a problem with that,call me,i have a lot of experience with that

I like the sound of that rc. And I agree with the points system being like F1.. (For the record, I think the points system I currently installed was originally based on a golfing tournament points hierarchy).

But new voting system could be from R14 with BMW.You have to do this quickly untill greatest entry lose position because of stupid votes(ATC,Goncas)

This is how we do it in Photochoperos. Between 15 to 20 chops every week.

We select the top 5:
5 points to the 1st chopper
4 points to the 2nd chopper
3 points to the 3rd chopper
2 points to the 4th chopper
1 points to the 5th chopper
