yes but do it next year after the wtb is finished
Agreed

EDIT: adding in these comp suggestions I made earlier to the suggestions forum.

More 'themed' comps, like "Chop an Autemo company car", "Create a beach themed Chop", "Best Track car or DTM car", "Chop a car from your country", "Remake an old supercar into a new concept", "Create the best wallpaper". Would people be interested in more of these kinds of thing?

what about something like WTB but not by countries. a member ca gather team mates from any country !! =O
Awesome contribution. This would be great and fun too. I'd consider them a 'group royal rumble' chopping battle. Just one question though: How could we make it so that people can't just team up as say 3 elite or advanced choppers or something? But would allowing this freedom of choosing anybody in your team really pose that much of a problem anyway??

i have to suggestions for this :
1-making the battle by sections
2-or the team should Composed from a member from each section(this one is harder but it would really help a lot of choppers with their skills)

this would be pretty awesome, but the problem i see with that is there are less people in elite than in NCA for example. If there were 30 teams participating, only a small number would have the advantage of having higher skilled team members on their side. I'd love to participate, but i can't speak for other people.

the battle by sections sounds better to me. That way, people are'nt intimidated by higher groups and/or feel the need to drop out for fear of losing.

most NCA members are not "that" serious about chopping yet
and if there is not enough members in elite to make at least two teams ,they would be awesome judges :)

I'd still like to see this open to all categories in the one comp, it gives choppers the opportunity to mix it up and work alongside fellow artists of different talent levels. It'd be more interesting for everyone involved. But to still keep it fair we could implement a few extra rules, I think we should make it like this: the teams are comprised of 3 members exactly, they can consist of members from any different class, however you can't have more than 2 members from any same level.

Nice ideas. I like the themed comps a lot. "Chop a country from your country" would be a little difficult for us Finns since we don't really have our own car brands. Maybe except for the student concept Valmet RaceAbout. Fisker Karmas and Porsche Boxters are manufactured in Finland though, dunno if that counts.:D

I've been thinking of more restricted comps as well. Such as no color change/original paint and reflections (for the most part) still visible. It would really put everyone in the same starting line for not being allowed to brush the whole car. I think it would be interesting.

Another thing I had in mind. A kind of themed tournament where each work will be voted on different stages while it progresses. First we choose a theme, say, race car, hi-fi car or whatever. Also the base car will be set. I also thought about letting everyone to choose their own base car. That could make it a little complicated for the voting or it could work out just fine. The choice affects to voting in a way that if your base image looks like crap in the beginning stages where you only change the wheels and bg, people might not vote for it. There should be guidelines to the choice of base image. Non-modified OR specific car make OR having the car from a specific era (80's, 90's,...).

1. The first round would be wheels, suspension and background. After that there is a vote for the best work (and styling) so far.
2. Second round, body modifications. This one of course should have a longer deadline. After this, voting for body mods, both quality and style.
3. Third round would be interior and windows. This is another bigger round. Voting for best interior.
4. Fourth round, finishing touches. This is where you make the graphics, decals and whatever do you do to finish your work and put it all together. This is the only stage where all the previous stages' work will be seen in the same image.

For example, in the interior comp voting, only the interior is visible even when the wheels and all that was made in the previous round. Same goes with the body mod round, no wheels and bg in the voting. This is to prevent the previously made stuff affect the voting of the best style and work on that particular stage.

What do you think?

Interesting concept, I still think this would work best if everyone started from the same base pic, as it would really even the starting grid. As I was reading through your suggestion I was wondering how do we prevent the inevitable bias that would appear if you got to show all of your mods in each stage, but you answered it in that last paragraph ;) Overall I think this is a good idea and could work.
The con side of this kind of long tournament where people only make one chop could discourage the ones not getting many votes in the first round to retire. Or, it could encourage them to try harder on the next round since the voting is separate. Hard to say.

And also, everyone could start working on the body kits and everything right from the first stage. There's no way of preventing that. It should be specified in the rules to only present the current stages' mods in the voting.

But people work differently. Some people might not keep the different parts of their car separate and intact. They might just flatten it right on the moment when they are satisfied with it. This should be mentioned in the comp over view to keep everything separate, possibly even to encourage to make the body kit, interior, wheel- and bg change in their own psd files. This means THEY should change their way to work just for the comp.

Maybe it's just too many rules but I think it's worth a try to see how it works.
Yeah its a hard one to say, there are a lot of variables to take into consideration with this. I suppose there's only one way to find out if it's gonna work or not: we'll just have to try it! But we will have to leave this for later on down the track, WTB is our first priority coming up soon, so perhaps in the middle of that we can have a go at this concept.
