I'm not a good artist myself, but I do know what you mean.
Elite should be a status that is only given to you when you are the true chopping addict who can make the most extreme and realistic chops of this community.
Nowadays I see a lot of chops which are " to easy or lack the details" that are needed to be a true elite artist.

So all I'm saying is that I agree with the admins and that the true elite wil reclaim there rightful spot soon.

but i do belive that elite members should have a quota of chops made. let's say you have to make one chop in three months (hypothetical), cos now we have 35 elite members, from which as far i can see nearly half are inactive. surely there are names that deserved their spot in elite with their past work and reputation but now they are inactive, and the active ones instead of being an elite group of 15-20 artists, their number is almost doubled with names that haven't produced a chop in ages.

secondly, i kinda agree with rich on this one about merging just the elite and advanced showrooms. cos advanced now isn't the top showroom, elite is, and only elite members should have the "pressure/criteria" of producing exquisite chops. Since advanced is not top of the line, advanced members realisticly are advanced cos they still can't produce that exclusivity. (just my opinion and has nothing to do with me being demoted )

lastly, i think the criteria for elite/great chops has recently become producing an extreem chops istead of producing high quality chops. speaking of my poing of view, i think only elite members and admins should decide weather one artist gets into elite, cos, again my personal opinion, only elite artist and staff are mature enough and can actually acknowledge the real work that has been done.

but i do agree that something has to be done, so i'm ok with whatever the staff decides

Just posted a new rendering in the "Advanced" section. Please consider this as part of the new promotion system.

In my opinion the idea wasn't a good move. I see a big difference between pro choppers and old advanced choppers. And the advanced and elite forum is now very empty. I think it was better to only move all elite choppers to advanced to get the chops higher.

We originally did consider only moving the Elite showroom down one notch, however we realised that some of our mistakes when it came to promotions at the higher levels weren't just limited to Elite. Also, there are a lot more active advanced choppers than there are Elite choppers meaning that the time it will take for the showrooms to shift again won't be a huge amount.

It's a bit slow going at the minute, a lot of people have exams and are starting to enjoy the summer (Except those crazy Australians for whom it's now winter ) Give it a bit of time, and it'll pick back up again.

If I get demoted, I will stop doing renders for good ..............



No not really but Am I not elite worthy anymore ? , if not then I will just have to live with it, time is something I do not have, then I will be in Advance forever lol.

and seeing majority of my art isnt really cared about it in here that reduces even the small amount of interest i have to post material here (keep the targetaudiences in mind) (and i mention this since i know by many peoples opinions i wasnt deserving elitemember)

and surely "proving myself" to get back showroom "status" i used to have does not motivate myself to post chops here anymore than old normal situation

and to be honest even if i think this was right move it was done few years too late, it would been suited to do when the "high level" was still active and there would been active enough people to grab the challenge

basically you can count atleast half of people who deserve elite to that group who will be lost in the shuffle.
which makes the whole move bit unnecessary in truth.

and now if you just promote the members back who are up for it but are inactive the whole idea is lost again

as you can see basically people just cant even bother or are not possible to spend time on "proving yourself" like this ->now even the advanced showroom is quieter than elite used to be

and same with pro (old adv too)

in theory just combining the elite and advanced would be good move, since i think that would mean stricker pro and inter also? (atleast untill the next wave of choppers get old and focus on other areas but that eventual move is out of my hands)

since most of the active members were low advanced and low pro they would just keep improving and keeping the high level up in their respective showrooms and be ready to promotion when/if the time comes

this would mean more chops in those areas that are getting attention and people will go in there again expecting chops they really look and think are good.

but in all honesty, it was quiet for some time already, will be quiet in future too and especially now that it is holiday time it will multiply even more

the whole result will be visible only in some time but i feel it was quite a miss to be honest (atleast at this stage) and put quite lot on the line in terms of how many members lost interest because of it

In all honest I've been noticing a steady decline in overall forum activity. It seems dead. Although it has picked up somewhat over the past week... it has seemed really low on activity recently.

And nordic... only people who post the necessary work will be promoted. Hence why only jack is elite status atm . The idea is strict promotion rules, so that only the true 'elite' will be in elite. Even if all the old elite did another chop, of their usual standard, there are some which probably wouldn't make the cut.

Give it time to see how it pans out
