I'm going to kill the next fu**er who refers to Eleanor as a Shelby Mustang, (and it's still one of the better cars in the movie)God I hate that movie. Even FnF 2 was a better movie...
On the topic of Jesus, no-one really knows exactly when he was born, so you can celebrate it any day you want. General tradition has tied his birtday to the winter solstice celebrations, but some say he was most likely born earlier in the year.

Jesus probably did exist yes...

Was he the son of god? No. Just a random guy like you or me that walked around chattin shit.

Does it matter when he was or wasn't born anyway? A lot of people these days celebrate christmas as a time of year to relax and unwind... not to remember Jesus.

I always thought it was a Shelby Mustang GT (350 or 500 can't remember) ?

On topic, I am not in the slightest bit religious but I thought it was acknowlegde that JC was born some other time and moved to 'Christmas' to fit in with the pagans winter solstice?

No, it was some poor old 67-68 fastbacks dressed up in a typical turn of the millenium fiberglass dress, with large wheels, and puny low-profile tires. But it was inspired by the Shelby, and called a GT500E. The only real Shelby in the movie is the 'wreck' Cage gets as a gift in the end of the film (which was a restored car, made up to look like s rustbucket)

It has grown on me a bit after all this years, so I'll admit that Eleanor wouldn't be so ugly with just a few less lights in the front, a better bumper, different wheels and ride height, and less '90's Audi' paintjob. And the grill, oh the grille...crucification would be too nice....
And, no Rich, even if Caroll Shelby has become an old attention whore who will sign any paper that grants him money, Eleanor is not a real Shelby Mustang (although I'm afraid they may have destroyed (raped) one real Shelby to make an Eleanor(unconfirmed rumour), but it wasn't used in the film I think.
The 'real' Eleanor from the actual car chase movie also called 'Gone in 60 seconds' (but with few other similarities with the Cage movie) was a 1973 Mustang Mach 1...
