I used to skateboard a lot when younger. Back in August i thought it would be fun to get back on the old board for a day. Brought a brand new deck, wheels and bearings ready to rock.
The day was going great, i struggled to do kickflips but i could do 360flips with ease. Don't know how that works. There was a ledge about waist height with a little kicker for it. I spend a while trying to tailslide it, after i few tries I landed a slide perfect. Even going a few claps for it. Pretty chuffed considering not being on a board in a year. I sat down to talk with friends and then i got up and tried it again.
Rolling up the ledge i knew i went in at the wrong angle. I though what could go wrong. Pop up the ollie, knew it was not going to make it. Kicked the board away. Then my foot was facing down and hit the floor, the went under itself and my leg went the other way. I heard a pop and crack. I knew it had gone instantly. Lifted my leg while still falling and hit my face off the floor. I did the usual man scream. AHHHHHHHH. Then calmed and told my friends to phone an ambulance (i was driving that day). Got carried on morphine.
Turns out i broke my leg in two places, i shifted the main bone out of the ankle joint and broke the back of my leg higher up. I required 10 pins and a plate holding it all together.

It is nearing the end of the year and i can finally walk but can't run or even jog. I think that might put the end to skateboard. Well maybe i'll still do simple tricks as i have the love. Would love to hear about you guys.
