So, the Initial D anime is back today after 6 years. Pondered making a thread for it but this'll do. It's quite awesome, the original Initial D series is hugely iconic for the Japanese Domestic Tuning Scene. For example it made the AE86 so popular and it was really a kickoff for the drift scene. For me as a kid I picked up a lot of car knowledge from the original series.

The reason I'm happy to see it back is it just might kick off another trend, which'll be good for the automotive economy as well as chopping (as a profession).

For anyone who has never seen Initial D I suggest watching the series from scratch. You have to get past the tacky music and typical anime stuff but as a car fanatic you just cant let it pass.

The comic (which I have at home) is so far ahead of the anime hehe.
But yeah, definitely worth a watch.


On a side note, because of Initial D, ae86's got so hyped up and are now so overpriced. People try to sell them off at a ridiculous price that is easily +5 times for when they were new from factory >_<
