Nice Wheels
First version of wheel's materials.

EDIT: Just noticed that the disc grooves are the wrong way around.
Wow, it's been a month since I previously updated this thread. There hasn't been much interesting about it to see lately though. I've mostly been baking out the normal maps and doing a lot of boring preparation work for the UE4 game engine. Still not familiar with it so this is going to be a big learning experience.

Anyway, here it is in UE4 with all normal maps with just a basic test material on. Some shadows leaking in there but that shouldn't be a problem once it's got proper materials on. And if it is I'll look into it later.

Next up would be creating the textures and materials for it!

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I've been thinking about the name for it too. I was thinking I'd call it "Borchia V8 VC" where VC stands for "volumetrico compressore" which is 'supercharger' in Italian and 'borchia' meaning 'boss', also Italian. Could someone Italian speaker on here confirm those are correct both grammatically and in practise?

Working on a car paint shader in UE4. Still needs a clear coat on it.

1 person liked this.
Now with the clear coat for smooth reflections. I think I need to fiddle with the reflections resolution later.

There's a lot of programs to produce 3d content and you can get the job done well with any of them. Blender is a free one but I use 3ds Max.
Played around with the paint settings some more. I got sharper reflections on it now too!
