Thanks! And yeah, do it. Start it up!

I made a seat today. First it looked silly, then a bit better but still a bit silly. So I put a deform modifier on it and tried to warp more posture into it. The difference can be seen in the last image on this post. The one on the right is the one I'm going with. The one on the left is the same non-modified one as in the other images.

Also, here's a pic of the steering wheel. It's now got the buttons (I was thinking they'd be cruise control and launch control) and the gear shift paddles on the back side.

Added some seam details on the seat.

A good start on the headlights today. Still needs some designing for the turning signals. And a better surface for the day lights (the small strip below the main light).

Now it's definitely got a more complete face.

And some smaller details such as the door opening handle on the inside.

Pedals.

And brakes. I will add the grooves in with a normals map later on as it's more convenient instead modeling them.

Wow thats realy nice
WOW. :O

All you've done so far... All the details... Were done in the mesh itself? No normal maps?

Yes, everything is modeled at this point.

I will bake a lot of the geometry in the interior parts into normal maps at some point though.

EDIT: It's been a while without a wider shot about the whole thing. So here's some.

Back from Belgium! I got no modeling done during the weekend because of that. Here's the first version of tail lights I made today.

The tails reminds me of a camaro. the dash looks like a Bentley continental and the headlights remind me of a tesla. I like al the different details mixed into one cool design!!

I still think there's something missing on the side, maybe a front air intake behind the front wheel like the bmw m series?

Greetz Kevin
Yeah, I know. I'm thinking the side needs a small detail on it. Will see what I think of.

The tail lights are inspired by the sketch drawing. I'm trying to model as much recognizable details from that but I agree they do have similar shapes compared with the Camaro tail lights.

EDIT: And oh yeah, the main inspiration for the dashboard was Bentley EXP-10 and Aston Martin Vanquish.

EDIT: I found a nice modeling video for anyone who wants to get started: https://vimeo.com/10941211
Those are exactly the same tools and method on how I model too!

I've been a little preoccupied with Project CARS so not much progress on this.

I did, however, make a new set of air vents for the interior, the instrument cluster version two, an additional air vent to the front edge of the dashboard for warming up the windshield and modeled the stick instrument thingies behind the steering wheel.
