I am thinking of getting a new car next year. Problem is, can not stop making my mind up of what i want. The idea basically is to go rear wheel drive.

So that gives:
Mx5
S13
S14a
Bmw E36

Those i could get in my price range. Each car has a + and - I feel. Will explain what it think of most of these. I would like to get "the arse end out", maybe attend a couple of events.

Mx5: I like these when they have lowered and some nice wheels, Could pick up a cheap one and get coils and some Rota or something and then maybe one two things extra. Problem is image, I see a lot of older people around my area driving these and they only look good in my mind when low. The roads are terrible up here. So could be a bit of a problem.

S13: Could pick up a cheap one that would be ragged of its engine and needs lots of welding. I could get one and do the DW handling package, coilovers and bushes and arms. Make it slidey slide. Weld Diff and such. Just worried about the engine and and general bodywork. Plus I kind of like the whole, I am Japan warrior drifter jdm tight yo! thing. Not over done too much. Problem is insurance rape. Plus i would need Type X lights.

S14a: I can get this on budget as well, just a very basic one Might push to coilovers and nice exhaust. Not a big fan of the the looks, It needs to have a nice kit and such so can't really get this unless I have big bucks but future wise could be good. Insurance is also a problem here.

Bmw E36: I Like the coupe one of these, I can get the 2.8 on good insurance and like the luxury of driving around in these. I just don't see many of this type being drifted and going to many events that have this culture. I see a few E30's out but to be honest, I can't be bothered with another old car. My old golf is doing my tits in with its rattles and shit. Could drive these for a couple of years and save up for proper track car.

So quick summary, Nissans = ragged engine and huge insurance. Mx5 Cheap and can be done, just hate old people. Bmw, good every day. Don't want to be stance more skid.

Like I said, scrap the E36 idea. Their crash safety is horrible and they fold up like a sheet of paper and you will die.

The S13 idea is nice, but make sure it's a 180SX or has a SR20 swap, never go for the CA18 as it will break just by looking at it.

MX5: No, it's a gay car

S14a: Why not go for an S14? They tend to be £5-10k cheaper here, plus they're a lot less effort to make nice, one thing you would have to do though is to swap the rear lights with ones from an S14a as they are hideous.

And dont forge't, its amazing to drive. its like nothing else. So don't listen to mr.homophobe above. its a great car.

Haha welcome to my dilemma, S14s have stupidly high miles, engine swap would probably break my balls on insurance. I remember that pic Esp of the E36
