Help us by answering this question!

So a thought occurred to me after seeing a thread earlier where a person had been given a very low rating on a very good chop without pointing out why they had given such a low rating. It got me thinking that people should point out why they have given that rating to help the chopper improve.

I haven't run this by Mark yet because I have no idea how easy/difficult it would be to implement.

Question:

Do you think there should be a system in place whereby a chopper is required to comment before rating a chop, or you are allowed to rate but your rating doesn't show up unless you have posted a comment of 10 or more words?
Hello.
yes it's a nice idea

Yes
92% of the teenage population has moved on to rap. if you are part of the 8% that stayed with rock, put this in your profile
The best way, obviously if you choose to keep use the star rank is to force people that wanna give a vote to write why they think the chop deserve the vote (so if I see a chop that is in poor quality, with wrong perspective, over aliased, not accurated and I wanna give 4 stars I've to write why).

It's frutrating to see some thread with no comments but with (example) 4 votes and an average rank of 5... it's frustrating for me, because I've also experienced that and I suppose it's also frustrating for the chopper (lot of hours for making a chop and then seeing a low appreciation).

I've to say that also lot of people take a look only on the scaled image on the forum and not at the full res pic, so they think some work is poor, when, if they click on the link the same work appears full of details.

Another point, IMHO, is how people expect from virtual tuning, sometimes I see brilliant works done with a really good taste with low rank, why? People is expeting amazing bodykit? The think the car is better with 4 or 5 rear wings or with an alien light plant?
I try to point my efforts on the realism, few mods but that can be reproduced on reality, not in car impossible to reproduce. That doesn't means that choppers have to do easy works, but means people judge too frequently a chop with wrong criteria, without looking at others things.
Looks at Hugo works: he's a stunning chopper, with amazing skills and he deserve his position there, and take a look at his gallery... works done perfectly and all are totally reproducible in the reality (and this for me is not a negative point, but an absolutly positive point).

So stop blaming you with my long bla bla bla. I really appreciate this thread, that means I'm not the only that think there's something going in wrong direction :)
Of course.

Some people just rate it, without any detail looking. And that kind of rate isn't relevant.

You should be obligated to comment on chop, if you rate.

I agree, if it's technicaly possible, i think people should not be able to rate without any comment. And why not showing it in their message so people had to assume their opinion :-d
Yeah,i agree with that.
I've another point about this problem... usually is really difficult to see posts with criticism, or, to say better, I read alway post too politically correct. Give a criticism doesen't mean "You're not longer friend of mine" but it's a way (using appropriate words) to explain what's wrong on a chop, and of course what's good.
Maximal agree ;)

A good point to improve the system, but sometimes people just get lazy to write something long and helpful. But maybe the lower you rate, the more comments you have to write. Ex: if you rate 2 stars to someone's chop, you should write something 40 words. Hope my suggestion helps. :)
