I've been following it on the other forum you know that buddy. :)
92% of the teenage population has moved on to rap. if you are part of the 8% that stayed with rock, put this in your profile
The parts you have added are extremly jaggie for some reason? How much feather do you use on your selections? I think you should go up a notch in any case. 0.3 works quite well for all situations on images around 1600x1200. I like the design, but it's a bit toony. Also a bit blurry in places.

Regarding the split line, I think you have sorted that out quite well. What you could do to improve it is to go back with an eraser set to low opacity and work a bit on the line. Then add some light dots along the highlight to make it pop a little. Otherwise you used a good technique.

Also something I noticed as an overall theme is that your selections are a bit rough. For instance on the cars left side on the left side of the big air intake. That bar between the big hole and the small hole on the cars left side is uneven, and not the same as on the left. You really need to focus there on stuff like that. Also the corners at the top of the big hole seem a bit sharp, might wanna round them off a little.

But you and this chop has potential, so I think you should keep going, and try to tidey some of the areas up by making sharper highlights, and a bit "blurrier" selections... if that makes any sense at all! Hehe. Good luck :)

Cheers!

thanks dude, i know its a bit jagedy i got loads left to do with it lol, erm where should i put the light dots i dont really follow you on that

Had to read my own post to understand what you were asking. Hehe. The light dots should be on the highlight line in places where you think the sun would reflect the most in the spoiler. Usually you can see this the best by studying the original :) Pretty sure you will be able to figuer it out.

Cheers!

Just a quick update, worked a bit on the splitter joint, added a number plate and did some shadowing on th far side of the splitter.

what y'all think?

Looks nice. Nice placement of the sunflares there. The upper one might be a tad to much as a painted star, so if you added just a few pixels of gaustic blur to it it would look better I think. Also I like the idea with the numberplate, but it's way to small to be an actual plate. Also are you gonna rebrush the sideskirt (SS)? Would be sweet to have it in a dark gray/black color. But then you should do the lip in the same color. I think that would look cool :) A bit more work, but still might be worth it :)

Secondly, what are you using to make your selections? Lasso or something like that? Cause I noticed they are a bit sharp in the corners. You should try to make them smoother. You can do this by using the Pen-tool. There are plenty of tutorials out there that show how it works, and it's a great help actually :) Pretty sure that more or less every person that is pro and above use it extensivly. It will help you make softer shapes on your kit, which it at the moment is in serious need of :)

Then also I noticed the placement of your bright yellow highlights on the fb. You have placed them at the top of the holes in the fb... I am pretty sure they should be at the bottom since the only lightsource is the sun, and that is shining down :) Hehe. Also to make them look better, I usualy use the eraser with a low opacity and softly blend the corners a little.

Try to work some of these things in, and keep going :) Think you can get a pretty decent result, and if nothing else you will learn a lot during the process :)

Cheers!

thanks mate
the top sun flare is from the original, i only did the one on the splitter and the white refs by the wheel arch (that came from the base)

i do use the lasso tool, only because i just cannot get the hang of the pen, i do try with it but it just never works lol

the ss will be brushed, i want it to mirror the splitter, with a mix of matte black plastic and yellow, i think they would work well together and keep the general theme going (which is to make the car look like its from a tuning company such as reiger or je design)
